Why Rent an ATV or Quad in Greece?
Nothing says Greek island adventure quite like an ATV. Quads and buggies are hugely popular with visitors who want to explore beyond the paved roads — dirt tracks to secluded beaches, hillside viewpoints, and off-the-beaten-path villages that cars simply cannot reach.
ATVs are also just fun. The open-air experience, the ability to park anywhere, and the sense of freedom make them a holiday highlight. They are especially popular on islands like Santorini, Zakynthos and Crete, where the terrain is perfect for four-wheeled exploration.
In Greece, ATVs are affectionately called Gourounes (γουρούνες), which literally translates to female pigs — a nickname that comes from the sound they make!

Tips for Riding an ATV in Greece
Start slow — if you have never ridden an ATV, take time to get used to the handling before hitting the trails
Wear closed shoes — flip-flops and ATVs do not mix (hot exhaust, loose gravel)
Apply sunscreen — you are fully exposed to the sun, and burns happen fast
Stick to designated tracks — off-roading into protected areas can result in fines
Check the vehicle before departing — brakes, tyres, lights, fuel gauge
